Circular Economy Collage: Understand the issues related to our use of natural resources and the waste we generate
You are cordially invited to a Circular Economy Collage at the French Embassy, hosted for the 3 days of circularity - France-Singapore Joint Year of Sustainability.
The Circular Economy Collage is a stimulating, group-based workshop founded on scientific information, which enables participants to grasp the limits of our existing global "linear" economy and understand the opportunities offered by the circular economy. It will allow you to understand the issues surrounding our use of natural resources and our generation and treatment of wastes as well as other impacts caused by human activities.
Having deepened your understanding of the limits of the linear production-consumption-waste system, you will discover a more virtuous model for our economy and lots of ways that each of us can save natural resources and produce less waste.
The collage will cover:
Which resources do we consume the most and which are most under pressure?
What impacts do our consumption and waste generation have on those resources and on the planet in general?
How can I contribute to reducing those impacts in my daily life?
How can companies evolve their business models?
This evening is curated for the France-Singapore Joint Year of Sustainability and will be hosted at the French Embassy in presence of the French Ambassador to Singapore. It is by invitation only.

Aquaponics Farm Tour
Launched in 2019, the hotel industry’s first urban aquaponics farm at Fairmont Singapore & Swissôtel The Stamford aims to meet the rising demand among guests for fresh quality produce and to support Singapore’s goal of producing 30% of its nutritional needs locally by 2030.
Through this curated experience, participants will learn about the sustainability initiatives at Fairmont Singapore & Swissôtel The Stamford before a tour of the aquaponics farm. At the farm, guests will learn about the technology behind aquaponics, try some produce and feed the fish.
At the end of the tour, participants will bring home a microgreens kit to try their hands at growing their own produce to prompt them to rethink about their food sources. Guests will have the option to add a meal at one of their 12 restaurants and bars to complete their experience.
Each private tour is priced at S$350++ for a maximum of 10 participants per session. Meal options are available separately on request.

France-Singapore Circular Economy Forum
As a key initiative of the Joint Year of Sustainability France-Singapore (JYOS), the France-Singapore Circular Economy Forum, organised by the French Chamber of Commerce in Singapore with the support of the French Embassy in Singapore and the French Foreign Trade Advisors (CCE), brought together key experts from corporates, researchers, and industries to share insights, strategies, and innovations aimed at driving circularity and sustainability in business practice.
The forum started with inspiring opening remarks by Ambassador of France, Minh-di Tang, and Guest of Honor Mr. Wong Kang Jet, CEO of the National Environment Agency (NEA).

The Circular Economy Collage is a collaborative 3-hour workshop that looks at our existing (linear) economic model, highlights its impacts and invites you to explore a different, circular model, that uses fewer resources, designs out waste and respects the limits of our planet.

In a nod to the Resort’s sustainability initiatives and the LeBar team’s craftsmanship helmed by Head Mixologist Daniel Anthony, the Sofitel Sling is a signature cocktail for barflies looking for a unique drink.
It is concocted with Seven Tails Brandy, Montenegro Amaro, Eau-De-Vie, Passionfruit, Calamansi, Watermelon Skin Tincture, Rose Nectar and Lemon Leaf. The watermelon skin tincture is made from upcycled watermelon skins from our kitchen, while the lemons leaves are from the lemon trees grown at the Resort.
At LeBar, over 60% of the cocktails are made using sustainably sourced ingredients, such as mint and other herbs for garnishes. For every eco TOTE refillable container ordered, one Spotted Mangrove plant will be seeded in the mangrove restoration forest in West Coast Sumatra.
